Lateen Peixcadors of CatarrojaHow do we do it?
lectures
-
You will be taught how to navigate the Albufera, its wind regime and how to use them.
-
You will learn about the types of typical boats, how they are built and maintained.
-
You will practice how they match. The good use of traditional materials.
practical classes
-
You will go out to the Albufera to sail a Latin sail. We have a small fleet of 5 school boats from Albufera, large support boats, and private member boats, which collaborate with the school to improve the practice of sailing.
-
You will use sailing in traditional practice: in good hands and on the mast.
-
You will sail upwind, across, girding, tugging.
-
You will learn how to take part in the exhibitions (regattas) organized by the Latin Sailing Associations at the Albufera.
Why do this course?
-
Because we only love what we know.
-
Because we want to preserve a very old legacy of artisanal uses in fishing and sailing in the Albufera.
-
Because we look for our roots, to know who we are.
What are you going to find?
-
Fun, adventure, camaraderie, "good roll", sport, challenges.
-
But also culture, knowledge of the environment, traditions, history and stories.
Who teaches it?
- Monitors approved by the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community, who are members of the Latin Sailing Association Peixcadors de Catarroja.
