Second vindictive Anniversary of Latin sailing as B.I.C. in the Albufera.
We like to celebrate, party. It has now been two years since the Generalitat Valenciana recognized the cultural interest of the Albufera's Latin sailing, and artisanal fishing.
For this reason, last Saturday 1 December we gathered in the Port of Catarroja the boats, the sailboats and the authorities, to celebrate what has been achieved so far and claim once again as much as remains to be achieved for the lake and the marsh that surrounds it.
We must thank all those who made the event possible with their volunteer work setting up boats and exhibitions:
- Catarroja fishing communities and El Palmar
- The Latin sailing associations of Silla, El Palmar, Catarroja and Sollana
- Association lateen Peixcadors Catarroja
- Valencia Sailing Federation Cultural Latina
- Catholic University of Valencia
- Catarroja City Council, mayor and councillors
- Councilor for the Environment of Silla and Councilor for Devesa-Albufera of Valencia City Council, Sergi Campillo.
It doesn't cost the people of Albufera anything to work together in solidarity when it comes to "sailing". Saturday's photos prove it.
